Chris Clements, VP of Solutions Architecture at Cerberus Sentinel, discusses two indicators that show GoDaddy is at fault for their data breach
GoDaddy takes seven months to discover data breach
“First, GoDaddy is offering free Website Security Deluxe and Express Malware Removal to its customers in response to the incident.
Second, GoDaddy indicates that the customer accounts were breached in October of 2019, however, has apparently only just now detected the compromise and notified customers. If this is the case it means the attacker had control of GoDaddy customer hosting accounts for about 7 months before they were discovered.”
